COVAC
COVAC is the brain child of director/musician Adam Hashemi B?l?ke, who together with Düreforsög set out to explore the possibilities of a new kind of music film.
Originally meant as a pilot for a television series, COVAC is an absurdist sci-fi short film inspired by 60's TV shows like "The Prisoner", "Outer Limits" and "Twilight Zone" and Elio Petris 1971 movie "Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion". The action takes place in the head quarters of a secret intelligence organisation called COVAC. Three scientists build a charming robot with human features, and as part of an experiment makes it seduce an unsuspecting nurse. But the robot has its own plans and turnes out more human than expected...
The cast includes Zlatko Buric, Liv Corfixen, Peter Peter Schneidermann, T.S. H?g and lead singer Boriz S as the robot. Other contributions from the band include set design by Nis B, sound design by Mads H and original score by Andreas H.
On the 23rd of August 2002, D?refors?g played four concerts in Copenhagen to celebrate the release of "Engine Machine". The band wanted to perform the entire album at unusual locations and adapt the tracks to suit the different venues. Performances were held from 11 a.m. to 5 five p.m. at ALIS Wonderland (Christiania), Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, record store GUF at N?rebrogade and Den Anden Opera.
The concert films are meant to give an impression of the day in its entirety. Each part of the film is a collage of sound and footage with features on the tracks Rundetaarn, kbh., Get On Land and A Racetrack.
