Exploring Beauty was written and recorded during 1998 at various studios. Two of the tracks, Beach and Honeybee, were mixed at Sweet Silence by Flemming Hansson, and the rest of the album was remixed also by mr. Hansson at DIEM (Danish Institue of Electroacoustic Music) in the fall 1998. The album was released in Denmark, April 1999 by Crunchy Frog, and in the rest of Europe and US by Kool Arrow Records in 2000.

There are some differences between the danish version and the US version of Exploring Beauty. Most notably the last track on the US version has been extended by Goodiepal and retitled Honeybee +. The covers also differ. The Danish version has an ekstra cardboard cover jacket, not featured on the US version, and the back and sides of the cd, as well as some minor details inside the booklet, are different too. The whole album has been remastered for the US version by Flemming Hansson. The LP version of Exploring Beauty includes bonus white label 7" with remake of album tracks by Goodiepal and V/VM.

The track Living In Vain was originally released by Snakefinger on his 1980 album "Greener Postures". The album is the second of two albums he recorded with the Residents and released on their label Ralph Records. Highly recommendable.
